Swara Bhasker: Actor Swara Bhasker married politician Fahad Ahmad in the court on February 16. It came as a surprise to many including her fans. Then she announced that they will also have a traditional wedding ceremony. And now the couple is set to go the whole nine yards with the festivities. Traditional pre-wedding ceremonies like haldi, mehendi and sangeet are planned between March 11-16.
After her court marriage, Swara started shooting for her film, Mrs Falani, in Chattisgarh. Once the shooting was wrappped up she planned the traditional wedding.
Last minute preparations
Swara is currently in Delhi to help in the last minute preparations. A source close to the family said, “Swara is giving the destination wedding a miss and instead opting for an intimate and emotional wedding at her nana and nani’s house in Delhi. The preparations have already started and she is detailing all the rituals. She has been planning every detail. With Holi and her wedding ceremonies lined up one after the other, there is a lot to celebrate.”
The invite that Swara sent to friends, says “join us and share the happiness we celebrate, the madness that is ‘us’ this Basant.” The source said, “The couple is excited about the upcoming functions from haldi, mehendi, sangeet, wedding and the reception. They are looking forward to celebrating their union in front of friends and family.”
Swara drops hints
Earlier, the Veere De Wedding actor took to Twitter to drop hints about her plans for her March wedding with Ahmad. She wrote, “Confessions of a to-be-bride /new bride! We still have a full set of wedding celebrations to plan… can’t decide how frugal I’m gonna be”.
Sources said the couple will kick-start their pre-wedding festivities on March 11 once Holi celebrations are over. From Mehendi to sangeet, the functions will follow.
The couple is quite excited about celebrating their union with friends and family.
