A biopic is going to be made on India’s first female choreographer Saroj Khan. On July 3, 2021 Saroj Khan’s first death anniversary, T-Series owner Bhushan Kumar has announced that he will soon start working on the choreographer’s biopic.
However, the cast and crew of the film are yet to be announced.
Saroj Khan’s heirs (Raju Khan, Sukaina Khan and Hina Khan) have given the legal rights of her biopic to film and music company T-Series. Nirmala Kishanchand Sadhu Singh Nagpal aka Saroj Khan, has made a special place in Bollywood with her dance style.
Saroj Khan’s daughter Sukaina Khan has issued a press release saying, ‘My mother is highly respected. Although we have seen her struggle and fight very closely. I hope Bhushan ji will be able to tell her story through this biopic. Was passionate about it. She respected all the artists.
On the other hand, Raju Khan said, ‘My mother loved dancing. She has dedicated her life to it. I am glad that I have been able to follow in her footsteps. She was respected in the film industry. I am glad that Bhushan ji has made a film on her biography.
Saroj Khan, a three-time National Award winne. The ace choreographer passed away last year after a cardiac arrest. She was 71. Everyone in the industry fondly called her Masterji.
During her over four-decade-long career, she choreographed more than 3,500 songs, including “Ek Do Teen” from Madhuri Dixit-starrer “Tezaab”, “Dhak Dhak Karne Laga” in Beta, “Dola Re Dola” from Sanjay Leela Bhansali”s “Devdas”, and “Ye Ishq Haaye” from “Jab We Met”.
