Vijay launches Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) party with a bold maroon and yellow flag, signaling his entry into Tamil Nadu politics.

Vijay Thalapathy

Vijay Thalapathy: On Thursday, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), the political party of Tamil superstar Vijay, unveiled its flag and symbol. Vijay raised the flag at a ceremony at the Panaiyur, Chennai, party office, heralding the start of a new political movement. In addition, the party’s official anthem—written by V Vivek and composed by the renowned music director S Thaman—was made available.

Maroon and Yellow TVK Flag

The maroon and yellow flag symbolises strength, solidarity, and wealth. It has two elephants on either side and a peacock surrounded by stars in the middle. As TVK prepares for the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections, the flag is expected to serve as a powerful symbol of the party’s principles and objectives. Vijay has earlier said that he would run for office through this recently established political organisation. Notably, TVK demonstrated its independence by not standing with any party alliance in the most recent Lok Sabha elections.

Vijay’s Promise for Equality and Justice

During the flag unveiling event, Vijay took a solemn pledge along with TVK party workers and leaders, promising to fight for equality and justice. He said, “We will always appreciate the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for our nation. I will work towards eradicating divisions based on caste, religion, gender, and birthplace. My goal is to create awareness and strive for equal opportunities and rights for everyone.”

TVK’s Official Launch and Rally in September

In the final week of September, TVK will formally be introduced to the public through a massive rally in Vikravandi, Northern Tamil Nadu. Over 300 TVK members and Vijay’s loyal fanbase attended the flag-revealing event, which is expected to set the tone for the upcoming rally.
