"The Dream Has Always Been To Take A Film From Your Country..." Ranbir Kapoor Shares His Thoughts on RRR Success

Ranbir Kapoor: In a recent conversation with Deadline, Ranbir Kapoor talked about his career until this point and his upcoming films. He also shared his thoughts on the success of RRR and what is his dream as an actor. He says, "The dream has always been to take a film from your country, rooted in your culture, and then show it to the world"

Ranbir Kapoor Talks About RRR

In their conversation, the interviewer asked Ranbir about the success of RRR and what his opinion on Indian films expanding out of just Indian audiences. Ranbir Kapoor responded to this by saying, "We all are very proud of what RRR did, what Lagaan did, 20 years back, or more years." He continued by saying, "But I think it all comes down to originality. It's not about trying to cater to the west."

He continued by saying, "It's about making a film about your culture, which is very deeply rooted in your value system, about the characters that you have grown up with or are part of your country. And I think RRR just celebrates that in the best way possible. It is not really a heavily inspired film from the west or any other country or any other culture." He also mentioned that "The dream has always been to take a film from your country, rooted in your culture, and then show it to the world."

Ranbir Talks About Animal 3

When asked about Animal Park and it's production status, Ranbir said that Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently making another film and the film should start production in 2027. He said that the script for the sequel is under works and Sandeep only flirted with the character in the first film. He said, "He wants to make it over three parts." On the topic of Animal Park, he said, "It's very exciting because now I get to play two characters, the antagonist and the protagonist. So extremely exciting project, an extremely original director, and very excited to be part of it."

Ranbir Kapoor on Working In A Hollywood Film

Towards the end of their conversation, the interviewer asked Ranbir, "Would you ever consider working on the other side of the pond in Hollywood?" To this he replied, "Well, of course, the opportunity when it arises would be very exciting for me. But I am even more excited to take a film made by my people from my country and take it around the world."

All in all, Ranbir Kapoor shared a lot about his upcoming films in this interview. Ranbir's core fanbase got to know how he looks back at his career.
