The Kapil Sharma fame Upasana Singh on Thursday approached a local court against Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu, alleging that she did not honor a contract to promote a Punjabi film. Upasana Singh has filed a civil suit in the Chandigarh District Court, seeking damages from Sandhu for her alleged breach of contract. Sandhu played the lead role in ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’.

“I gave Harnaaz a chance to act in the film ‘Bai Ji Kuttange’,” the filmmaker told reporters outside the court. Not only this, I also made ‘Yaara Diyan Poo Baran’, in which Harnaaz has played a heroine role. Miss Universe Sandhu was supposed to make herself personally available to promote the film as part of her contract with Santosh Entertainment Studios LLP, but she refused to give a date for it.

Upasana postponed the film release date because of Harnaaz
Upasana further said, ‘I gave her a chance when she was not Miss Universe. I have spent a huge amount on this film. It is not a small budget film.’ She claimed that the film was to release on May 27, but due to Harnaaz, she had to postpone the release till August 19.
About Harnaaz Sandhu
For uninitiated Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned Miss Universe in an event held in Israel last December. Earlier only two Indians – Sushmita Sen (1994) and Lara Dutta (2000) have won the Miss Universe title.
