The Princess Diaries 3 will not be a remake
According to insiders, the film won’t be a remake but rather an addition to the Anne Hathaway-starring series. The actress doesn’t currently have a contract to return, although she has stated that she and co-star Julie Andrews would like to work on a third instalment. It’s not yet certain whether Andrews, who portrayed Queen Clarisse in the two Princess Diaries movies, will visit Genovia again because the narrative details are still being worked out. If the two actors are able to reprise their roles, it would be a joyful reunion for the audience, but the threequel would have a lot to live up to.
