Thunivu, starring Ajith Kumar, debuted on January 11. According to reports, an Ajith fan died during a festival of the film’s release in Chennai. Bharath Kumar, a fan, was said to have gone to see Thunivu’s 1am show at a theatre and died after jumping off a slow-moving vehicle while celebrating Thunivu’s release. The film marks filmmaker H Vinoth’s third collaboration with Ajith and producer Boney Kapoor. Nerkonda Parvai and Valimai are two of their previous flicks.

“Bharath Kumar, a fan of actor Ajith Kumar, who leaped in excitement from a slow-moving vehicle perished to injuries on Poonamallee highways near Rohini theatre, Chennai. Case registered. He had come to attend Thunivu film’s 1 am show at the theatre: Police officials,” news agency ANI said on Wednesday.
According to reports, fans have been celebrating the release of Thunivu, which was released on the same day as Vijay’s Varisu. The Tamil film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Sarath Kumar, Jayasudha, Srikanth, Shaam, and Prakash Raj in addition to Vijay. Meanwhile, Ajith’s Thunivu, which also stars Manju Warrier and John Kokken, has received critical acclaim as one of his most entertaining performances since Mankatha (2011).

Ajith was most recently featured in Valimai, in which he played a cop who goes after an outlaw motorbike gang. Huma Qureshi and Karthikeya also acted in the flick. Along with the original Tamil version, the film was released in Telugu and Kannada.
