Thunivu movie review: Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu hit the big screens at 1 am on January 11 across locations. The actor’s fans were in celebration mode as the film was highly awaited. Theatres were transformed into a festival arena with fans thronging in large numbers. Ajith’s look as the ‘boss man’ stole the show in action-packed Thunivu. The box office clash between Varisu and Thinuvu had created lot of excitement among the fans of Ajith Kumar and Vijay Setupathy but Ajith’s fans declared Thinuvu a clear winner. Stylish Ajith Kumar gave a terrific performance to win the pongal race!
A heist thriller
Thunivu is a heist thriller that has Ajith essaying the role of a bank robber. The trailer had him taking a bank hostage and demanding a huge sum. Unlike his previous ventures, Ajith seems to be playing a grey character in the film. The film has music by Ghibran.
Manju Warrier, the Malayalam cinema star, essays the female lead. Other actors who have pivotal roles in the film include Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Veeran, Ajay, and GM Sundar. The film is directed by H Vinoth.

Advance booking for the film predicted good business for Thunivu in Tamil Nadu. Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared on Twitter, “Excellent adv booking for both #Thunivu and #Varisu all over TN.” He also said, “It is like Avengers and Avatar’s clash in Hollywood and Salman Khan-Shah Rukh Khan in Bollywood.”
