Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu: A wave of sadness occured after the news of sudden demise of Pritam Singh Sandhu, father of Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu at the age of 57 surfaced online. It has been told that Pritam was fit and fine and just like his usual routine he went to bed but didn’t wake up in the morning. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared by the doctors citing that it must have been a heart attack.
Harnaaz Sandhu mourns the loss of her father
Pritam Singh Sandhu hailed from the Batala sub-division in Gurdaspur district and had been residing in Kharar for many years. His wife is a government doctor. Unfortunately, Harnaaz Sandhu was in Mumbai when her father passed away. After receiving the news of her father’s sudden demise she has been headed back home. The cremation ceremony is set to take place around 4:00 pm and it will take place at Balongi village.
Just a few months ago, Harnaaz Sandhu made the nation proud by winning the 70th Miss Universe beauty pageant held in Eilat, Israel. She brought the prestigious crown back to India after a gap of 21 years. Prior to Harnaaz, only two Indian beauties had achieved this feat – Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.

Pritam Singh Sandhu, a realtor by profession, was a devoted supporter of his daughter’s journey in the world of pageantry. Harnaaz, at the tender age of 21, showcased her impeccable personality and unwavering determination to claim the coveted Miss Universe crown, making her a name known to every Indian.
