Twenty Five Twenty One star Nam Joo-hyuk enlists in Military, joins elite SWAT team

Nam Joo-hyuk, the breakout star of Start Up and Twenty Five Twenty One, has officially started his mandatory military service in South Korea. According to K-media reports, the actor entered the military camp on March 20th and will undergo basic military training for five weeks. He has been accepted into the military police squad, and his admission ceremony will be held privately. Joo-hyuk is expected to complete his military service in the SWAT team.

Nam Joo-hyuk finished shooting of Vigilante

Before enlisting, Nam Joo-hyuk finished filming for his upcoming drama titled Vigilante, which is set to premiere on Disney +. He joins other notable celebrities such as BTS member Jin and J-hope, as well as actors Lee Do-hyun, Kim Min-gyu, and Song Kang, who are expected to enlist this year.

GOT7 member Park Jinyoung is also set to enlist soon, having already prepared for it by releasing his solo record, Chapter 0: With, in January. While his exact enlistment date is unknown, it is expected to be in the near future.

Military service is necessary in South Korea

The mandatory military service is a crucial part of South Korean culture, with every physically fit man required to complete 18 months of service before they turn 30. Despite the interruption to their careers, many celebrities have continued to uphold this tradition, with Nam Joo-hyuk being the latest to do so. Fans eagerly anticipate his return after completing his service and look forward to seeing him on the big and small screens once again.
