After filmmaker Aditya Chopra discussed nepotism and revealed the reason why Uday Chopra couldn’t become a successful actor in one of The Romantics’ episodes, social media phenomenon Urfi Javed reacted to her statement.
Aditya Chopra said, “My brother is an actor, but he’s not a very successful actor, for the benefit of the uninitiated. Here we have the brother of a very prominent director and the son of one of the biggest filmmakers. Imagine we were YRF, a company that has likely launched the most outsiders, and we were unable to make him a star. Why couldn’t we achieve it for ourselves? Since only an audience may ultimately decide, ‘I like this person, I want to see this person,’ No one else can make that decision.”
Urfi Javed reacted on her Twitter
Urfi Javed reacted to this comment on Twitter. She wrote, “The sheer ignorance in this statement irritates me so much, nepotism isn’t about success, it’s about the opprtunities. Uday chopra wasn’t good looking (not that it matters but I’m making a point), wasnt a good actor, his movies failed miserable at box office but he still kept getting work. Had it been some Uday Chauhan (someone not from Bollywood), he wouldn’t even get all those opportunities just after one failed movie. Are you guys going to defend nepotism by using this? Really?”
