Popular Indian television actress Urfi Javed recently made headlines when she arrived at an event in a stunning black monokini with a plunging neckline and a matching kimono. The actress made a grand entrance at the venue and posed for the paparazzi with elegance and confidence. However, her out of box fashion choice did not sit well with everyone, and she soon found herself at the center of a controversy.
Man issued fatwa against Urfi Javed
A man, whose identity has not been disclosed, issued a fatwa against Urfi Javed and demanded that no graveyard should give her a place to be buried after her death. The fatwa was issued in response to the actress’s choice of attire, which the man deemed to be “vulgar” and “against Islamic values.” He claimed that the muslim community is boycotting Urfi Javed.
Urfi Javed herself has commented on the fatwa or the controversy surrounding her outfit. Talking to Instant Bollywood, she said, “I think this guy is also very very attention hungry and he is wanting publicity….agar vo media ko jaa jaake bata bhi rahe hain ki maine aisa aisa kiya hai toh theek hai ab kya bolun.”
Netizens reacted to the controversy
However, her fans and supporters have come to her defense but some of the netizens supported the man who issued fatwa and said that Urfi deserve this. One user wrote, “Attention hungry or publicity to tu hi chti h…or ulta chor kotwal ko dat rha wah re wah.” Another user wrote, “Aapne religion ki to respect karlo.”
