NBK’s Veera Simha Reddy opens to 64.68% morning occupancy; expected to gross big during Pongal

Veera Simha Reddy: Telugu film Veera Simha Reddy has created quite a buzz among viewers as it shows veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna in an intense avatar. On the opening day the film got a solid start at the box office. Reports said the film registered a huge 64.68% morning occupancy rate. This the first big Telugu release of 2023 and is expected to gross big during the Pongal festive weekend.

The film that got UA certificate, collected a whopping Rs 16 crores in advance bookings for the opening day. Trade reports said Veera Simha Reddy sold over 8.4L tickets in the pre-sales for the first day.

Released in 1465 theatres worldwide

The film has been released in 1465+ theatres worldwide of which it has occupied 875+ theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The overseas theatre counts are 500 whereas the rest of India theatres counts are 90.

The film crossed the $500M mark in advance booking in the U.S. In India too it has done great business. According to a rough estimate, Veera Simha Reddy will collect in the range of Rs 22-25 crore on its first day in the domestic market.

Balayya’s film received 9.6 ratings on the ticket bookings portal BookMyShow with 9.6k reviews. Besides NBK, the film stars Shruti Haasan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Honey Rose, Duniya Vijay, Murali Sharma in key roles.

It marks the first collaboration between NBK and director Gopichand Malineni, who previously delivered blockbuster Krack during the pandemic times.
