Coldplay: The song “Baraye,” performed by the British rock band Coldplay and Iranian actor Golshifteh Farahani, became the rallying cry for anti-hijab demonstrations in Iran after Mahsa Amini’s passing. The pop group sang in Farsi to extend their support for Iranian women after the upheaval caused by the death of Mahsa Amini.
Coldplay Extends Support to Iran’s Women
Protests erupted in Iran after Amini, 22, died in detention following her arrest for allegedly breaking Iran’s stringent clothing codes for women. The incident sparked six weeks of unrest across the country.
Coldplay sang “Baraye”, in Persian, by Iranina pop singer Shervin Hajipour that has become the anthem of Iranian youth. “This song is in Farsi so I can’t really sing it. But we are gonna sing it together and we send it with love from Buenos Aires,” Chris Martin said right before the performance. The concert was digitally broadcasted on Voice of America (VOA).

Coldplay Perform Astronaut with Jin
BTS’s Jin collaborated with Coldplay for the world premiere of his brand-new solo track, “The Astronaut”!
At Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 28 local time, Jin made a special appearance. He joined the band to perform “The Astronaut” live for the first time.
The following day, BTS uploaded a video of the performance on their official YouTube channel. The performance was especially poignant because Jin and Coldplay co-wrote the song.
