Viral video: Uttarakhand, renowned for its breathtaking mountains and revered pilgrimage sites, has recently found itself in the midst of a disturbing incident of animal cruelty. A video circulating online has captured a shocking act where two individuals forcefully subjected a horse to inhale what appears to be marijuana. The distressing incident purportedly took place during a journey to the sacred Kedarnath temple, sending shockwaves through the community making prominent figures like Raveena Tandon asks authorities to launch a thorough investigation.
About the viral video
In the viral video, two men can be seen forcefully administering marijuana to a horse. They restrain the animal’s mouth and nostrils with their hands while introducing the substance into its nasal passage. The horse, clearly distressed and unwilling, struggles to breathe as it inhales the drug and exhales smoke. The video spread like wildfire and sparked backlash and outrage among the people and raised some serious concerns about animal safety.
Uttrakhand police’s official statement
Upon the video gaining widespread attention, the Uttarakhand Police swiftly responded to address the issue. They acknowledged the viral video and expressed their commitment to identifying the individuals involved, stating, “We have taken cognizance of the viral video wherein a horse is forcefully given smoke. We are making efforts to identify the men in the video.”
PETA, which takes care of animal rights, also joined hands to find the two individuals who committed the crime. After their investigation they were lucky enough to find the owner/guardian of the horse but they are still struggling to trace the horse. But the team assures that they will soon find the horse and make sure that he is alright and his culprits will be punished.
Raveena Tandon reacts
Prominent figures such as actor Raveena Tandon have also spoken out against the incident, urging Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to ensure the arrest of those involved.
One user commented, “This is so awful.” Another user commented, “Kitna gir gya h insaan .. had se had paar ho ri h insaniyat ki ab to.” One of them commented, “Jo chal ke ni ja sakta vo shyd uske naseeb me darshan nahi! Stop animal usage on pilgrimages.”
