Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has sent a legal notice to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee with readers to her recent statements. Recently, Mamata Banerjee in her remarks said movies like The Kashmir Files and the recently released The Kerala Story were made to humiliate a certain section of the society.
Vivek sends legal notice to West Bengal CM
Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the legal notice that he has sent to the West Bengal CM. He wrote, “I have, alongwith @AbhishekOfficl & Pallavi Joshi, sent a LEGAL NOTICE to the Chief Minister, Bengal @MamataOfficial for her false & highly defamatory statements made with malafide intention to defame us & our films #TheKashmirFiles & upcoming 2024 film #TheDelhiFiles.”
The Kerala Story Banned in Bengal
Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said the controversial film “The Kerala Story” will be banned in the state, as she said that it could create a situation of panic in the state. She also alleged that the BJP is funding a film on Bengal on similar lines to The Kashmir Files.
“What is ‘The Kashmir Files’? It is to humiliate one section. What is ‘The Kerala Story’?… It is a distorted story. BJP is showing The Kerala Story, a distorted story. A few days back, some stars funded by BJP came to Bengal, and with some distorted and concocted story, they are preparing Bengal Files,” the chief minister said.

The Kerala Story Makers Move to SC to remove ban in Bengal
Meanwhile, the makers of The Kerala Story are set to approach the Supreme Court seeking the removal of a ban on the film in West Bengal.
In their plea, the makers also seek the Tamil Nadu government to provide security to theatres screening
