Actor Sonakshi Sinha and Bollywood actress Zaheer Iqbal are now legally married. The pair decided for a low-key registered marriage after dating for several years. On a calm Sunday evening, the civil ceremony was held at Sonakshi’s flat in Bandra, Mumbai. Sonakshi thrilled her followers on Instagram by posting a number of lovely pictures from their special day, providing a peek into their private party.
A Love Story Seven Years in the Making
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Sonakshi shared the significance of the date, writing, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope, and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever.”
The Wedding Ceremony: Surrounded by Loved Ones
The newlyweds were dressed in matching off-white outfits, radiating happiness as they posed for photos surrounded by their loved ones. The joy and laughter captured in the love-dipped photos reflect the couple’s deep bond and the support of their close-knit circle.
Pre-Wedding Festivities
The wedding ceremony was a private affair, attended by family members and close friends, including Sonakshi’s Heeramandi co-star Aditi Rao Hydari and her fiancé, actor Siddharth. The pre-wedding celebrations began on Saturday with traditional pujas held at Sonakshi’s family home, Ramayan. Sonakshi, dressed in a blue kurta suit, attended the puja alongside her mother, Poonam Sinha.
Celebrations Leading Up to the Big Day
Before the puja, the couple hosted an indoor party for friends and family on June 20, followed by a vibrant mehendi ceremony on June 21. Among the attendees were Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. Reports also suggest that the couple organized bachelor and bachelorette parties with their respective friends, ensuring a series of joyous events leading up to their wedding.
A Love That Began at Salman Khan’s Party
According to media reports, Sonakshi and Zaheer’s love story began at a party hosted by Salman Khan. The couple, who initially kept their relationship under wraps, made it official in 2023 after making a public appearance together at Aayush Sharma and Arpita Khan’s Eid celebration.
