Ashneer Grover has made the revelation in his book Doglapan: The Hard Truth About Life And Start-Ups. The book offers advice about entrepreneurship and business and also throws light on life and its hard truths.

Former Co-founder and Managing Director of BharatPe, Ashneer Grover was the X factor of the business reality show, Shark Tank India season 1. The show was a huge success and its second season missed Ashneer terribly for his blunt and to-the-point feedback. CarDekho’s founder, Amit Jain, who replaced him in the second season, has failed to create an impact.
Doglapan has a chapter on Kiara Advani row
Doglapan has a chapter titled, ‘How Kiara Advani Almost Got Me Divorced’, in which Ashneer recalls the funny incident that happened a few years ago when he was with his family. The entrepreneur recalls how one day his mother told him that he had become a ‘big shot’, as Ashneer was so much busy with his meetings and office work. The same day, Ashneer’s wife, Madhuri Jain Grover asked a businessman-friend about his marriage plans.
The friend, who also knew her husband, Ashneer Grover, stated that he contacted a high-profile matchmaker just like the famous matchmaker, Sima Taparia, aka Sima Aunty. Further, the friend shared that his matchmaker had shown him some high-profile names too. After this, Madhuri and Ashneer asked him to reveal some names, and their common friend revealed that his matchmaker had also dropped Kiara Advani’s name as an eligible match.
The revelation surprised Madhuri Jain Grover and Ashneer Grover. Ashneer then quickly turned to his mother and told her that if he was getting married today, Kiara Advani’s marriage proposal would have come for him. He said, “Aapko pata nahi hai market me aaj kal kya chal raha hai. Aaj ke din shaadi ho rahi hoti na toh Kiara Advani ka rishta aata aapke bete ke liye.”
Mom got the joke
While Ashneer’s mother took her son’s statement as a joke, Madhuri, wasn’t impressed. Ashneer shares in the book that after this incident Madhuri stopped talking to him. The entrepreneur added that his wife slammed him for 30 minutes while on their way to the airport. In anger she also reminded him that he was nothing when they got married. Madhuri also asked her husband if he actually wanted to marry Kiara Advani!
Well, it was indeed a scary situation but the entrepreneur said he was lucky that Madhuri didn’t make a mountain out of the molehill.
For the unversed, Ashneer Grover is one of the biggest investors in the country, and he and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover are blessed with two kids, Avy and Mannat.
