However, few people knew about the special bond between Satish Kaushik and Neena Gupta. In her autobiography, Neena Gupta has spoken extensively about their deep friendship. Satish Kaushik used to come to her house on a scooter to pick her up when they were shooting together. When Neena was pregnant with Masaba, Satish Kaushik even offered to marry her, saying “Don’t worry, if the child is born with dark skin, you can just say it’s mine and we’ll get married. Nobody will suspect a thing.”

Satish Kaushik later clarified that his offer was an expression of his affection, concern, respect, and support for his best friend. He was proud of Neena for deciding to have a child out of wedlock, and he wanted to be there for her. His gesture moved Neena to tears, and their friendship grew stronger from that day onwards. He said, “I told her, ‘Main hoon na, tu chinta kyu karti hai?’ She was moved by the gesture and was in tears. From that day onwards, our friendship grew stronger. I am happy and proud that she is doing so well as an actor. She is a symbol of a strong woman in our society. She is now happily married to a great guy and a successful entrepreneur, Vivek Mehra and he is a great friend, too.”
