Suraj Chavan: As Bigg Boss Marathi’s latest edition has come to an end, social media influencer Suraj Chavan lifted the season 5 trophy. He defeated singer Abhijeet Sawant and became the winner of Bigg Boss Marathi season 5. The Bigg Boss Marathi winner received grand prize money of INR 14.6 Lakh along with an INR 10 lakh jewellery voucher and an EV bike. What impressed the fans was his rags-to-riches journey. From being a TikTok influencer to rocking the Bigg Boss stage as a winner, let’s take a look at his journey.
Bigg Boss Marathi Winner Suraj Chavan and His Journey
Suraj Chavan has seen most of the phases in his life. Before becoming a social media influencer Suraj used to live in Modhave Village, Baramati. His father died at an early age because of cancer and his mother died due to illness. On the same day his grandmother also passed away. Living a complicated life, Suraj’s childhood was filled with unpleasant memories. Her elder sister raised him and he completed his education till 8th standard. He then got to know about an app called TikTok and made a video on it. The Bigg Boss winner realised that he liked creating videos, so he bought a phone with the help of his sister and started making content on the platform. After TikTok’s ban, he shifted to YouTube and Instagram.
Bigg Boss winner Suraj Chavan’s life took a turn when his content started capturing the audience’s attention. He earned the title of Reel Star among fans. He was praised for his famous Marathi catchphrase ‘Goligath’ and ‘Bukkit Tengul’. Suraj has a massive Instagram fan following with 2.1 million followers and he has done 2 movies as well. First, he appeared in Marathi flick ‘Musandi’ in 2023 and then in ‘Raja Rani’ 2024. Seeing his absolute performance both in the digital world as well as in films, he became a part of Bigg Boss Marathi season 5.
His paycheck for every week was just Rs 25K. Once on the show, he revealed, he used to get around INR 80K for ribbon cutting. As a contestant on Bigg Boss, he earned around 2.5 lakh throughout his journey. Becoming the winner of Bigg Boss Marathi season 5 Suraj earned 14.6 lakh cash and 10 lakh jewellery voucher prize.
About Other Finalists
Apart from Suraj, Abhijeet Sawant, Nikki Tamboli, Dhanajay Powar, Anjali Walwakar and Janhavi Killekar were also part of the finalists. Janhavi Killekar took the cash prize of 9 lakh and left the Bigg Boss house. Abhijeet Sawant stood second, Nikki Tamboli clinched the third spot in the Riteish Deshmukh hosted Bigg Boss Marathi season 5.
