Bollywood actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal celebrated their love with a civil marriage on June 23 in Mumbai, a touching ceremony honouring their love. The pair, who has been dating for seven years, made a big step in their relationship by sharing lovely photos from their special day on Instagram while surrounded by close friends and family. However, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate expressed her disappointment over the flood of negative comments that forced the couple to disable comments on their wedding posts.
Congress Leader Supriya Shrinate Stands Up Against Online Hate
Reacting to the negativity, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate expressed her disappointment on her official X account. She highlighted the unfortunate reality that instead of receiving love and congratulatory messages, the newlyweds had to shield themselves from toxic comments by disabling the comment section on their social media posts. Shrinate conveyed her best wishes to the couple, emphasizing the values of love, understanding, and trust that trolls seemingly lack.
In her post, Supriya Shrinate wished Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal a joyous and fulfilling married life, filled with love and mutual respect. She also extended her “blessings” to the trolls, hoping they find peace and understanding. Her message resonates with the hope that love and humanity will prevail over hate and intolerance.
A Unique Wedding Without Religious Rituals
Iqbal Ratnasi, the father of Zaheer Iqbal, previously disclosed the details of the wedding to the Free Press Journal. He made it clear that neither Hindu nor Muslim customs would be followed in the marriage, and that Sonakshi Sinha would not convert to Islam. Ratnasi emphasised that there were no religious restrictions on the relationship; it was only based on love and humanity. He expressed his blessings for the couple, emphasizing the universal essence of humanity over religious differences.
A Star-Studded Celebration
Many Bollywood celebs attended the lavish reception that Sonakshi and Zaheer hosted at Bastian in Mumbai after their civil marriage. Salman Khan, Kajol, Rekha, Siddharth, Aditi Rao Hydari, Tabu, Honey Singh and others were among the guests who came to wish the newlyweds.
