The Gurgaon ACJM court has set March 5th as the date for delivering its verdict in the case against YouTuber Elvish Yadav and singer Rahul Yadav (Fazilpuria) for allegedly using rare species of snakes in their music video.
PFAC Raises Concerns During Hearing
During the court hearing last Tuesday, Saurabh Gupta, an officer from the People for Animals Foundation (PFAC), submitted written responses to 43 points raised in the police report. He questioned the accuracy of the report, stating that permission was obtained to shoot the video in a school, while the actual filming took place in a mall under construction.
Allegations of Unlawful Snake Use and Lack of Permits
Mr. Gupta further alleged that Elvish Yadav and Fazilpuria used over six rare species of snakes, among a total of 20, without obtaining necessary permissions. He stated that they lacked approval from the Animal Welfare Board, district administration, and the Forest Department.
Case Originated from PFAC Complaint
The controversy arose in 2023 following the release of the song featuring the use of snakes. PFAC raised objections and filed a complaint with the Gurgaon police. After no initial action was taken, they approached the court, leading to the current case against Elvish Yadav, Fazilpuria, and others.
All Parties Await Court Decision
With the hearing concluded, all parties involved now await the court’s decision on March 5th, 2024. The judgment will determine whether the use of snakes in the music video constituted an offense and, if so, the consequences for those involved.
