Brahmastra: The Indian film industry has always been dominated by big players, and the first day box office collections are one way to determine who is the biggest of them all. In the past, Hindi films had the upper hand, but with the release of the masterpiece ‘KFG 2’, starrer South superstar Yash in the lead role, all records were broken. While the film had the biggest opening ever in the Hindi market, with 54 Cr, the industry and audience are now waiting to see if Ayan Mukerji’s directorial ‘Brahmstra: Part One – Shiva can beat these figures.
The audience finally saw the long-awaited KGF 2 after it was repeatedly delayed due to the COVID pandemic, and when it was finally released, the film, which already had a massive fan following at the time, achieved a massive 54 Cr.
Without a doubt, with the release of KGF 2, Yash has developed a fanbase that the industry’s biggies took years to reach. While the actor flooded the box office with large numbers, suspicion is rife about whether any other movie will be able to surpass or break those numbers, and one contender has to be Rabir Kapoor’s most awaited fictional adventure film, ‘Brahmastra.’
However, if we see recent opening day collections of other movies, it will be a difficult road ahead for the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. For example, Heropanti 2 obtained 6.70 Cr., Runway 34 obtained 3.40 Cr., Jersey obtained 4 Cr., Hurdang obtained 5.80 Cr., Operation Romeo obtained around 2-3 Cr., and Cobalt Blue ended up collecting 5 Cr. These figures only serve to highlight the Yash Starrer’s dominant run.

Now for the Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmstra, which was revealed in 2014, has paved a long journey with big budgets, thrilling visual effects, and a big star cast to deliver a power-packed experience to the viewers. It will be interesting to see if Ranbir Kapoor’s charm works again at the box office and breaks the record of Yash’s KGF 2’s first-day collection.
The film, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan and many others, was written and directed by ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ fame Aya Mukerji and is set to be released on September 9th.
