Baby powder of healthcare company Johnson & Johnson may be banned all over the world including the United Kingdom (UK). A shareholder of the company has proposed to ban Johnson & Johnson Company’s baby powder.
According to a report published in The Guardian, Johnson & Johnson stopped selling its baby powder product in the US and Canada in the year 2020. In fact, an investigation conducted by the US regulator found Carcinogenic Chrysotile Fibers in a sample of Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder, after which sales of its baby powder had fallen drastically.
Johnson & Johnson Company is currently facing more than 34 thousand lawsuits. Many of these cases have been done by women who have claimed that they got ovarian cancer after using baby powder.
Talc is considered the softest mineral in the world. Its mining is done in many countries. Talc is used in the business of paper, plastic and pharmaceutical. It is also used to treat rashes and for other personal hygiene purposes.
It is worth noting that the stock of Talc sometimes gets contaminated due to Asbestos. If its fiber enters the body, then this mineral causes cancer.
However, Johnson & Johnson Company has denied that its baby powder is harmful. Johnson & Johnson says it has stopped selling the product in North America after rumors spread about its baby powder.
