India’s COVID-19 caseload went past 92 lakh with fresh 44,376 reported in last 24-hour. With 524 new fatalities, the total death toll in the country has mounted up to 1,35,223.
As of now, there are 4,52,344 active cases of the virus, the latest data from the health ministry revealed. On Wednesday, 36,367 more people recuperated from the virus and the total recoveries have now crossed 86,79,138. Currently, the recover rate of the stands at 93.66 per cent.
The five worst affected states by the covid-19 infection in the country are — Maharashtra(17, 17,95,959), Karnataka (8,78,055), Andhra Pradesh (8,64,674 cases), Tamil Nadu (7,74,710 cases) and Kerala(5,78,363).
On Thursday, Kerala reported the highest number of infections with 6,491 fresh new cases.
Delhi recorded 5,246 new cases in last 24-hour, almost 1000 less from that on Wednesday.

*Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai tested positive for the covi-19 infection on Thursday. According to an official, Rai had come in contact with party workers During Diwali.
*The Centre has extended ban on international flights till December 31. According to a notification issued by the Civil Aviation Ministry, the services to and from India will remain suspended till 11:59 pm on December 21,2020.
*Maharashtra Second-highest daily infection in the country with 6,159 fresh covid-19 cases. With 65 more people dying due to the virus, the total death toll of the state as reached 46,748.
*Bihar’s COVID-19 tally now stands at 2,32,459 after 763 new cases in the past 24 hours, while four fresh fatalities took the death count to 1,237, a health department bulletin said on Wednesday.
*Delhi Police personnel have rescued more than 350 COVID-19 patients by donating them plasma, the force said on Wednesday.
*South Korea reported more than 500 cases, highest number since March, as the country continues to grapple with the third wave of covid-19.
*The Chinese mainland has reported 12 new imported Covid-19 cases, pushing the total number of imported cases to 3,821, according to Xinhua agency.
* US Covid-19 deaths surpassed 2,60,000 on Wednesday, according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.
Meanwhile, the overall global covid-19 tally on Thursday have surpassed the grim milestone of 60 million, according to Johns Hopkins University.
