Deputy director of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) KPS Malhotra, who was present during Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone’s interrogation in the drugs case associated with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
Earlier, 25 officials from the Mumbai office of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) tested positive for Covid-19, and 20 of them were sent to home quarantine. Five of them have been admitted to the hospital.
KPS Malhotra has also been one of the officers who has regularly addressed the media in connection with the updates in the case, right when the investigation had started with Rhea Chakraborty’s name being linked to it.
The actor too might have to get tested for the virus as he was the one who interrogated her over her ‘drugs chat’ on WhatsApp. The agency was questioning the actor over her 2017 WhatsApp chats where she had discussed certain code words and it was assumed they were discussing drugs.
While 20 of them were sent to home quarantine, five of them have been admitted to hospital.
Rajput (34), an emerging Bollywood star, was found hanging in his apartment in suburban Bandra on June 14.
