Dr. Reddy Lab has fixed the price of Sputnik V manufactured in Russia. The price of this one vaccine is currently Rs 948, 5 percent GST has been imposed on it. According to this, its price will be Rs 995.40.
Dr. Reddy’s has issued a statement saying, “Presently the price of imported dose is Rs. 948 + 5% GST. But as soon as the local supply starts, its price is likely to come down. ‘
India’s Bharat Biotech Covaxin and Serum Institute Covishield will now be equipped with Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine in the country. It will be available in the market from the coming week.
The first dose of Sputnik-V in Hyderabad has been given on Friday. It has been informed by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories that the first batch of Sputnik-V arrived in India on 1 May.
It has been approved by the Central Drugs Laboratory located at Kasauli in Himachal Pradesh on 13 May. It is being said that the efficacy rate of this vaccine is 91.6 percent.
The vaccination campaign is currently underway in India with two vaccines, Covishield and Covaxin.
The central government buys both these vaccines for Rs 250. However, Covishield and Covaxin have priced their vaccines separately for private hospitals and the open market.
The central government has also allowed vaccine companies to sell vaccines to state governments and private hospitals from May 1. Companies producing vaccines in the country will give 50 percent vaccines to the central government, then 50 percent vaccines can be sold to state governments and private hospitals.
