The number of new cases of corona in metropolitan Mumbai is increasing continuously. On Thursday, 20,181 new cases of corona were registered in Mumbai, this number is about five thousand more than the cases reported on Wednesday.
During this, four people have lost their lives due to corona infection. The number of cases has also increased in the suburbs of Dharavi, Dadar and Mahim. In 24 hours, 107 new cases have been registered in Dharavi, 223 in Dadar and 308 in Mahim. In the state of Maharashtra, 36265 new cases of corona were registered in 24 hours and during this period 13 people died due to corona infection. Out of the corona cases reported in Maharashtra on Thursday, 79 are of Omicron variant.

According to the statement of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), out of 20,181 cases registered, about 85 percent (17154) are asymptomatic. On Thursday, 1170 patients needed to be admitted to the hospital while 106 needed oxygen support. With these cases registered on Thursday, the number of active patients in metropolitan Mumbai has reached 79, 260. So far 16,388 people have lost their lives due to corona infection in Mumbai.
Not only Mumbai, Coronavirus is wreaking havoc all over the country at this time. On Thursday, 90,928 new COVID-19 cases were registered in the country in the last 24 hours, which was 56.5 percent more than Wednesday. There were 58,097 new corona case reports yesterday. In the last 24 hours, 325 people have died due to corona infection. The total number of people who lost their lives due to corona in the country has reached 4,82,876. Active cases are also increasing rapidly in the country due to the low number of patients recovering in comparison to the huge jump in new cases of corona.
According to the data of the Union Health Ministry, the number of active cases has increased to 2,85,401 so 2,85,401 patients are undergoing treatment for corona. During the last 24 hours, 19,206 patients have become free from infection. At the same time, till now a total of 3,43,41,009 people have managed to win the war by defeating Corona. The recovery rate has come down to 97.81 percent at present.
