To control the corona infection in the country, a rapid Covid vaccination campaign is being run. At present, most people in the country are being given the Covidshield vaccine, but a news related to this has increased the concern of travelers preparing to go abroad. Actually, Covishield has not yet been recognized by many countries. At the same time, European Union countries will not allow travelers to get the Covidshield vaccine.
Several EU member states have begun issuing digital vaccine passports, which will allow Europeans to travel freely for work or tourism.
The Vaccine Passport will serve as proof that a person has been vaccinated against the coronavirus. The European Union had previously stated that member countries should issue certificates regardless of the type of COVID-19 vaccine, but the technical specifications of the ‘Green Pass’ indicate that it may be obtained from an EU-wide marketing authorization. COVID will be limited to vaccines.
At present, only four corona vaccines have been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) – Comirnati (Pfizer/BioNtech), Moderna, Vaxgerviria (AstraZeneca-Oxford) and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). These vaccines can be used to issue certificates or vaccine passports on behalf of EU member states. Although both Vaxjeveria and Covishield are AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccines, the EMA has not yet approved the Covishield made in India, while Covishield has also been approved by the WHO.
