Yoga: There is no single wellness trend that has enjoyed more sustained buzz than yoga. People who practice yoga are more likely to be active in other forms of exercise too. And no single reason is driving people to the age- old practice. Experts believe that yoga gives you double benefit – fit body and healthy mind.
Experts recommend it as it targets several muscle groups of the body, joints and the bones and strengthens them. It also helps in stretching the body and boosting the posture, balance and stability.
Yoga helps you slow down
The heightened stress and fast pace of today’s world makes yoga more relevant than ever. As most people spend most of their waking time on autopilot, yoga helps them slow down.
Asanas calm the nervous system. Even just sitting and breathing can be yoga. Strengthening the body does not have to be high intensity routines.
Yoga trainer Anshuka Parwani believes that yoga is the way to go. And why wouldn’t anyone believe her as she trains Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor?
In her Instagram post, Anshuka demonstrated a routine to show that one can achieve toned and strong arms with a range of yoga asanas.
“Yoga is a very effective way to work on your upper body strength and sculpt the arm muscles. These asanas will work on the biceps, triceps and are a sure shot way to get sleek and toned arms. They help make the arm muscles more flexible and increase the range of motion in them. Give these asanas a try and I promise you’ll love your arm days at home,” reads Anshuka’s Instagram post.
Bakasana has multiple benefits
The trainer highly recommends Bakasana, which she says, comes with multiple health benefits. Phalakasana, also known as Planks, helps in strengthening the wrists, biceps, forearms, triceps, legs and the neck. Phalakasana II, also known as Forearm plank pore, helps in stretching, strengthening and lengthening the arms. Vasisthasana, on the other hand, helps in targeting the wrists, arms, shoulders, legs, and core muscles. Ardha Purvottanasana and Bakasana help in targeting the core muscles and strengthening them.
