Breakfast recipe: You have made dosa with rava, rice flour, oats and even ragi flour. To make it more interesting and innovative, here is instant dosa recipe prepared with vermicelli noodles and rava. Semiya or vermicelli is added to rice powder to make it crisp and crunchy. It can be an ideal breakfast as it only takes 10 minutes to prepare and a good alternative to routine rava dosa.
For making the dosa crisp and crunchy, using a nonstick dosa pan is recommended. Avoid using a cast iron dosa pan as it may make the dosa stick to it. Most important: for a crisp dosa, you need to roast semiya on low flame.
INGREDIENTS
½ cup semiya / vermicelli
1 cup rice flour
¼ cup rava
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp salt
5 cup water
½ carrot (grated)
½ onion (finely chopped)
2 chilli (finely chopped)
1 inch ginger (grated)
2 tbsp coriander (chopped)
few curry leaves (chopped)
oil (for roasting)

INSTRUCTIONS
roast ½ cup semiya till it turns golden brown.
cool completely and transfer to a large bowl.
add 1 cup rice flour, ¼ cup rava, 1 tsp cumin and 1 tsp salt,
pour 5 cup water and mix using a whisk.
cover and rest for 10 minutes.
add ½ onion, ½ carrot, few curry leaves, 2 tbsp coriander, 2 chilli, and 1 inch ginger. Mix well. you can see the batter is watery. you can adjust the consistency by adding water if required.
when the pan is super hot, pour the batter on the pan.
spread 1 tsp oil and allow to roast for 2 minutes or until the dosa turns crisp.
serve crispy semiya dosa recipe with onion chutney.
