Arthur’s Christmas
Ever wwondered how does Santa visit every child in the world in one night? Well, it’s quite the high-tech operation behind the scenes. But when a glitch causes one child to be missed, it’s Santa’s youngest son who is the savior. This computer-animated flick was produced by the same studio that brought us Chicken Run and Flushed Away, and therefore the animation is simply superb.
It’s a beautiful life (1946)
It has all the ingredients to make it one of all-time favourite Christmas movies. Magical passages, buckets of good will, alternate plotline and thrill all add to its magic. It’s the best tribute to the efforts of a small-town do-gooder to cement the idea of Christmas as a time for giving. Definitely one of the best Christmas movies. You’ll laugh and cry after watching Donna Reed and Jimmy Stewart in It’s a Wonderful Life.
Little Women
Louisa May Alcott’s classic tale is not strictly a Christmas movie, but key plot points take place during the holidays. The 1994 version stars Susan Sarandon, Trini Alvarado, Winona Ryder, Claire Danes, and Kirsten Dunst.
The Bishop’s Wife
Cary Grant is a handsome angel sent to guide a spiritually troubled bishop but find himself smitten for the bishop’s wife (Loretta Young).
You can make it a double treat. The Bishop’s Wife is available to watch for free with an Amazon Prime membership in 2022, but pay $3.99, and you can stream it back-to-back with the 1996 remake, The Preacher’s Wife. The latter is directed by Penny Marshall and stars Denzel Washington and Whitney Houston.

Christmas Princes
The film is set in sunny Southern California and this holiday tale is based on the true story of teen Donaly Marquez (Nicole Muñoz). She overcame a troubled past to earn a place in the royal court of the Tournament of Rose Parade.
