Eid ul Adha 2024 Qurbani Significance
Hazrat Ibrahim once dreamed of sacrificing his kid. He had complete confidence in God. He saw this dream as a message from Allah and vowed to fulfil it. Hazrat Ibrahim chose to offer his kid as a sacrifice to God. God saw his adoration and requested him to sacrifice an animal instead of his son. Hazrat Ibrahim followed God’s instruction and slaughtered his beloved lamb rather than his son. That is why sacrifices are offered on Bakrid.
Eid-al-Adha is also known as Bakrid because during this occasion, members of the Muslim community sacrifice goats. To your knowledge, except from the Indian subcontinent, Eid-al-Adha is not known as Bakrid anywhere.
