Moreover, these are so effective that a lot of Westerners have now started adapting ancient Indian haircare secrets to achieve long and beautiful hair. On top of that, most Bollywood actresses make use of these age-old recipes to achieve smooth and luscious hair that stays healthy despite excessive styling. Here are a few tried and tested methods that are age-old yet effective
Oiling
the biggest secret of Indians for a strong and thick head of hair is the age-old practice of oiling. It involves mixing natural oils such as coconut oil, castor oil Neem oil etc. by lightly heating them. After it is applied on the hair massage it well on the scalp for 15 to 20 minutes. Then, the oil is left in the hair for a few hours before washing it off, revealing smooth and soft hair. This keeps hair nourished, and healthy and combats dandruff
Homemade mask
Homemade masks have been used on hair for a long time. It involves using natural ingredients that are easily available in most kitchens, such as eggs, yoghurt, tomato, avocado and milk. Eggs promote hair growth, yoghurt moisturizes hair, tomato strengthens the hair, avocado cleanses hair and milk moisturizes. Mix whatever ingredient is available and apply it to your hair. Leave it on for 10 minutes before washing it off.
Henna
Henna powder is commonly used on hair by women who go through grey hair. This covers the grey areas while reducing scalp problems like dandruff.
Shikakai
Shikakai is a leaf of a plant commonly found in India. The powder of it can be used on hair to promote hair growth. It is a common natural shampoo used to clean hair. Moreover, it also slows the greying of hair. Many Indian hair products have this ingredient in them.
Braids
Braiding is also a common practice in Indian households, as it is advisable to go to sleep with a braid. It keeps hair strong and healthy. It also promoted growth by keeping the hair detangled.
Balayam
This is a technique of rubbing the nails of both your hands together. the tips of the nails are connected to the nerve endings of hair follicles, promoting hair growth.
