Jal Zeera Recipe: During the summer, it’s common to feel like having something cold to drink, and Jal Zeera is a popular beverage that’s enjoyed by both adults and children alike. Drinking it leaves you feeling really refreshed. Made with black salt, roasted cumin, and mint, jalapeño is a delicious and simple drink to make. It takes twenty-five minutes to prepare and serves well on a summer’s day.
Ingredients for Jal Zeera
125 gms tamarind pulp
3 tbsp mint leaves
1/2 tsp (ground) cumin seeds
¾ tsp cumin seeds, chopped into pieces
50 gms jaggery, grated
4 tsp black salt
1 tsp grated ginger (flavoured salt)
3-4 tbsp lemon juice
A pinch of red Kashmiri chilli
1.5 litres water
1/2 garam masala
How to Prepare Jal Zeera
1. Grind the aforementioned ingredients together to produce Jal Zeera.
2. Allow it to chill in the refrigerator for the entire night.
3. Garnish the cocktail with the boondi and proceed to serve.
Special Tip: You can make Jal Zeera by mixing Jal Zeera powder in water with some of these ingredients to save your time. However, it will not give you the best taste but it will refresh your mind and body.
