In the middle of all of this, a woman posed a question about Lord Ram because he had requested his wife Sita to perform an agni pariksha. The spiritual master responded. In response to her inquiries, Sadhguru explained why Lord Ram took that action.

A woman asked Sadhguru about why did he ask Sita to perform agni pariksha after returning from Sri Lanka. She also said that Lord Ram did not trust his wife and that’s why he gave agni pariksha to her. He answered, “Agni pariksha did not meant somebody has to enter the fire, meant she was put through some test. Of course, because you are the king, everybody is looking at you as an idol, how you behave, what you do is very important because the entire nations life depends on you. Today, our biggest problem is this in the country. This is the trifecta syndrome from then to now.”
He continued, “Okay, so he set an example in those days, it doesn’t matter is she’s pregnant. That means his sons are inside. For a king, his sons are very important because it’s an empire. But, in spite of that, he sends her to the jungle because otherwise there’s disruption in the country. You are seeing this as a negative thing. I think we need such prime ministers and leaders in this country, no matter what for the well-being of the nation, they will do what is needed.”
