Is salt preferable to ordinary iodized salt for people with high bp? People are very confused about this, and if you are on the list as well, Dr. Priyanka Shehrawat shared a video in which she was seen informing and warning people about this. You will learn the answers to all of your questions and whether iodized salt is equally beneficial for high blood pressure patients or if eating rock salt is necessary for them after watching the video.

Difference Between Both Salts

Dr. Priyanka Shehrawat clarifies in this video that iodized salt is refined salt that has been fortified with iodine. There are two varieties of unrefined, very pure rock salt: rock salt and black salt. However, pink salt, also known as rock salt, and black salt, also known as refined rock salt, also contain sodium. In all three, iodine is the same.

The amount is important

The sodium content of salt—which is the same in rock, pink, and iodine salt—is the most crucial factor for BP patients. It doesn’t matter if you use white salt, rock salt, or a combination of the three; a patient with high blood pressure should use less than 5 grams of salt, or less than 2 grams of sodium. Each of the three salts contains only 2 grams of sodium per 5 grams of salt. It matters how much salt you use when treating blood pressure patients.
