Skincare Tips: As the winter season is right around the corner the skin tends to get dry and dull. During this season, proper care needs to be given to the skin to keep it looking plump and fresh. A good skincare routine is a must for this. However, there are a few home remedies that can be just as effective. Moreover, these remedies are extremely pocket-friendly and are made using ingredients that are easily accessible.
Turmeric Yoghurt mask
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and is filled with antioxidants—these help brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots and dark circles. Yoghurt soothes the skin and nourishes it, which is essential during the winter season. Mix half a teaspoon of turmeric into two spoonfuls of yoghurt. Upon this, add a spoon of besan or chickpea flour and honey, which is optional. Mix everything and apply a thin layer on the skin. Rinse it off after 15 minutes. This will give instant results. Therefore, this mask can be applied, once to twice a week. Moreover, this mask could leave a slight yellow tinge on the skin which will go away quickly.
Rice water ice pack
Rice water has properties to heal the skin for tanning while hydrating the skin. It is rich in vitamins B and E, along with antioxidants that help brighten the skin. This traditional Korean skincare technique involves letting rice sit in water for a while before it turns into a murky white colour. Store this water in an ice tray and freeze it. Apply this ice cube on the skin daily for the best results
Oatmeal mask
Oatmeal is also filled with antioxidants that help brighten the skin. Moreover, it gently removes the dead skin cells, revealing fresh smooth skin. Add half a cup of oatmeal with two spoonfuls of yoghurt and a little honey. Mix until a thick paste gently scrub it on the skin and wash it off.
Tomatoes
Tomatoes contain acids like salicylic acid that help chemically exfoliate the skin. Moreover, it has vitamin C and other antioxidants which brighten the skin. Moreover, it is great to treat sunburn. Take a slice of tomato and rub it all over the skin. Or else, apply the juice of a squeezed tomato on the skin.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera directly targets the melanin-producing compounds on the skin and reduces the appearance of it. Moreover, it also prevents it from producing more on the skin area. Due to this, it significantly reduces the appearance of dark spots and pigmentation. Extract aloe vera gel from the plant and directly apply that to the skin.
Thus, these remedies are a must-try to achieve glowing skin throughout the year.
