Skincare Tips: Our body gets rest when we sleep. However, even after that, the body does not stop functioning in its entirety. The brain is still partly active while we sleep. Moreover, while sleeping, cell turnover takes place in the skin. Therefore, it is essential to take extra care of the skin while going to sleep, as it is the period when the body temperature rises. This results in blood flow and collagen production. Therefore, if proper care is given to the skin, it helps to make the skin healthier. However, if proper care is not given, it can result in breakouts or wrinkles over time. Hence, these are a few things to keep in mind before going to bed.
Makeup Removal
Makeup removal is a crucial aspect of skincare and one must make sure that makeup and sunscreen are removed thoroughly from the skin. Otherwise, the compounds of makeup seep into the pores and clog them. As a result, acne and pimples are caused. Therefore, make use of proper makeup remover to remove makeup and go through with a mild face wash to remove the excess dirt from the skin
Moisturize
Nighttime is also the time to treat your skin with nourishing serums and moisturizers. Products with active ingredients such as Vitamin C or hyaluronic acid are more effective when used before going to bed. Moreover, seal all the ingredients with a hydrating moisturizer.
Drink a lot of water
Drink a lot of liquids throughout the day. However, it is advised to drink green tea or chamomile tea at night as helps boost skin hydration and clarity.
Foods
Before going to dinner, one must take care of their diet to attain flawless skin. Therefore, foods like fatty fish, nuts, broccoli, tomatoes, avocados, and sweet potatoes are good for the skin as they are rich in antioxidants and essential vitamins. Moreover, one should avoid eating cheese items before going to bed. This could lead to clogged pores and acne.
Pillows
One needs to take care of the things that form direct contact with their face. Therefore, it is important to change the pillowcase regularly. Moreover, it is advised to use a satin pillowcase that prevents fine lines and wrinkles, due to its frictionless surface.
