Vastu Shastra believes that it is crucial to have a home with positive energy for love, wealth, prosperity, health and abundance in life. it has set up a few rigid layout principles that bring about these positive influences in our lives. It follows the ancient scriptures that talk about how geometry and pattern can shift energies in homes. Moreover, there are a few basic dos and don’ts that every house must follow to get rid of all the bad energies and invoke positive energies. This can result in a happy family dynamic that lasts.
What you should be doing
- Make sure that the east part of the house is maintained well. This involves cleanliness, well-ventilated and well-lit
- All the important papers, documents and certificates should be placed in a cupboard in the northeast of the room. Doing this will keep these papers protected. Moreover, you can also put a swastika symbol to enhance the protection.
- It is also advised to place paintings or portraits of the owner in the house, preferably hanging on the wall. This ensures wealth and success in the person’s life
- Another big tip is to light a diya or even a lamp that will bring prosperity to the entire family, by keeping the negative energies at bay.
- The south, west and southwest part of the house is where your memory gets stored. Therefore, make your presence felt by sleeping with your head facing the southwest.
Things to avoid
- The entrance of the house should not be in the southwest direction of the house. This invokes the Agni, god of fire, brought by the harsh sun rays. These sun rays bring bad energy into your life that can lead to bad health conditions for your family and can also lead to defamation.
- Do not put huge water tanks in the southwest of your home. This could lead to fights and conflict among the family and can also lead to money loss.
- Do not place a mirror in the south. It may lead to conflict and blame on you for something you did not commit.
- Indoor plants should not be prickly like cactus
- storing old waste material in the house can bring negative energies that may lead to bad health for you and your family.
