Vastu Tips: The kitchen is one of the most auspicious parts of the house as it is where the Goddess Annapurna, the god of nourishment. The kitchen is also a space where one cooks food for the entire family. Therefore, adhering to proper Vastu rules will help you achieve maximum positivity in the manner of good health, happiness and prosperity. Here are a few vastu tips to keep in mind for the kitchen.

Direction

The kitchen should ideally be in the southeast direction of the house. Appliances such as Gas cylinders, fridges, microwaves, etc should be in the southeast direction of the kitchen. The entrance of the kitchen or refrigerator should be in the north direction. The sink and drinking water should be on the northeast side while the windows and exhaust should be in the east.

Colours

The colours that are suitable for a kitchen include, white, yellow, green and brown. White means purity, yellow means cheery and happy, green means health and nourishment, and brown means stability.

Ventilation

There should be proper ventilation in the kitchen. Otherwise, it could potentially trap bad energies such as bad health, in there or stop the smooth flow of good energies into the kitchen. windows or chimneys need to be placed in the kitchen.

Mirrors

Mirrors should not be placed in the kitchen at any cost. One needs to be especially careful that the mirror does not reflect the stove. This could enrage Goddess Annapurna.

Toilets

Toilets should not be placed adjoining to the kitchen. On top of this, toilets should not be present above or below the kitchen either

Waste

In the kitchen, do not hoard any form of waste items like wrappers and old food items. This could ruin the good energies in the kitchen that are essential for positive cooking results. Moreover, medicines should not be kept in the kitchen at any cost, as they symbolize bad health.
