Vastu Tips: The ancient Hindu tradition of Vastu Sastra takes a lot of significance in these modern times. These layout rules, when followed according to ancient Shastra scriptures, can lead to abundance and good luck in life. These are caused by forming a harmony between the natural and man-made elements, causing good energies to enter our space. On the occasion of Diwali especially, one must be mindful of the Vastu rules that can lighten up not only the festivities but also our future. Moreover, one of the most crucial aspects of Diwali is lighting diyas. Therefore, follow these rules to light Diya the correct way.
Direction
Lighting diyas in itself is an auspicious event. However, ensure that they are placed in the east or northeast direction of the house. Placing the diyas towards the direction of sunrise helps with new beginnings and positivity.
Type
The type of diyas used for Diwali should be made of clay or brass which is believed to bring harmony and positivity.
Odd numbers
The number of diyas should always be in odd numbers such as 5, 7,21 etc.
Surroundings
The area where the diyas are kept should be clean and clutter-free. Otherwise, it can be deemed vastu dosh
Oil
The oils used in diyas are supposed to be either ghee or mustard oil and have purifying properties
Clove-camphor
Till Diwali, light clove and camphor for 6-8 hours that brings a sweet aroma and is considered auspicious for Diwali and one’s wellbeing
