A garden not only is aesthetic and pleasing to look at, but it is also good for the environment. Vastu Shastra is the ancient system of layout that has prescribed certain rules to be followed in a garden. Here are a few rules to be followed while planting in the garden.
Vastu Tips for Garden direction
Certain direction rules need to be followed when installing a garden. Not only this, but it is also to be followed before planting each plant.
- The garden should be in the north or east direction of the house. This wards off negative energies from entering the house. The garden should never be in the south or west direction. This will invite negative energies into the house
- Tulsi plant should be planted in the north or east of the garden
- The north is also auspicious for a sitting area and a water fountain.
- In the south direction, huge trees can be planted
- Small Shrubs can be planted in the east
- Flower plants should be in the north while fruit-bearing plants should be in the east
- Statues can be placed in the west of the garden
- Rose plants can be placed in the southeast of the garden
- The centre area should be kept empty and open
Other tips
- The tulsi plant should be healthy. Dying tulsi plant should be treated and pruned regularly
- The garden should be clean and clutter-free
- Bonsai plants are not considered to be auspicious to be placed in the garden
- Bamboo plants should not be planted in proximity to the garden.
- Thorny plants should be avoided as they bring confusion and misunderstanding in a relationship.
