Juhi Chawla questioned Sadhguru during the conversation about his upbringing and whether he attended a typical school like everyone else. “How was it when you were a child? Were you put into a school, to go the systematic way?” the actress asked.
Sadhguru replied, “Do I look that educated? Don’t insult me like that. Actually, when I go and stand in immigration lines, particularly in America, they look at me and say, ‘Can you speak English?’ I say (nods). Because I have that uneducated look, it’s not easy. Do you know what it takes to remain uneducated?”
“Education is just 20 years of going somewhere and getting a certificate. To remain uneducated, it’s very difficult. Because from the day you’re born, your parents, every adult, everybody is trying to educate you about something that hasn’t worked in their life,” he added.
When Sudha Murthy was called a ‘cattle class’ person
Sudha Murthy has recently told several stories with a similar theme. She spoke about being referred to as a “cattle class person” despite having a business class ticket. During her appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, she claimed that the salwar kameez she was wearing was considered understated. She described how the UK immigration authorities didn’t believe her when she claimed to be British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s mother-in-law on the same talk show. “He thought I was joking. No one believes that I, a 72 year old, simple lady, can be the mother-in-law of the Prime Minister,” she said on the show.
