World Heart Day 2023: How to keep your heart healthy?
Your heart is one of the most essential organs in your body. Apart from the brain, it is the vital organ that does extreme workouts throughout your lifetime. You may pump iron in the gym for a while but your heart never stops pumping blood throughout your body till your last breath. We are surrounded by toxic air, adulterated food, and numerous diseases. On this World Heart Day, it is crucial for you to know the ways in which you can protect your heart and keep it healthy for a long time.
Consume a healthy diet
What you eat determines what you will become. It is of utmost importance to keep tabs on what you eat regularly. Your diet must constitute fiber-rich foods, fresh fruits, and most organic edibles. If possible, it is always advised to go vegetarian to maintain a clean and healthy heart.
Refrain from smoking
You must have heard several times about the harmful and even deadly effects of smoking. It’s high time now to start giving it a listening ear if you are someone who loves to smoke. Smoking is notoriously famous for clogging your arteries which increases the chances of cardiac arrest.
Make sure you sleep properly
In our busy schedule, we seldom take time to give our bodies the proper rest they deserve. It is of utmost importance to get a proper six-hour sleep every day to keep your heart healthy. Lack of sleep can increase the chances of heart attacks.
Choose moving over sitting
It is very important for your body to get the necessary workout every day. Sitting in one place for long hours can cause accumulation of fat which increases your cholesterol levels considerably. This in turn may increase the risk of several heart conditions.
