1 dead, 94 hospitalised due to contaminated water in Karnataka’s village

On Wednesday, 94 people, including 20 children, were hospitalized after drinking contaminated water in the Mudenoor village in the Ramdurg taluk of Karnataka’s Belagavi district. One person perished as a result.

According to neighbours, the incident happened on Wednesday as a result of a water supply pipeline crack that allowed drain water to flow into it. Shivappa (70) has been named as the deceased, while five other people are reportedly in critical condition.

The residents of the area complained of vomiting and diarrhoea after drinking the water, and they were treated at government and private hospitals in Ramdurg. According to officials, 94 persons, including 44 men, 30 women, and 20 children, were impacted.
