10 killed, 20 injured as bus on way to Katra falls in gorge on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway

10 killed: Ten people were killed, while 20 others were injured when a bus fell into a gorge on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway near Jhajjar Kotli on Tuesday. The bus was carrying 75 passengers at the time of the accident. It was on its way to Katra from Amritsar when the accident took place.

Those injured were referred to a hospital in Jammu for treatment.

Eight killed in Rajasthan

This incident came a day after a tractor trolley fell into a gorge in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district on Monday. In that incident, eight people, including six women and two minors, were killed and 26 others were injured in the accident, reports said.

The incident occurred in the evening when the victims were returning from a religious program held at Mansa Mata temple. It took place approximately one kilometer away from the temple

Collision with pole

According to the police, it seems the driver lost control of the tractor-trolley, and collided with a pole. Subsequently, the bus fell into a gorge.

Officials were conducting a search operation at the accident site in hopes of finding any survivors. State Minister Rajendra Singh Gudha promptly had at the CHC in Udaipurwati to inquire about the incident from officials and locals.
