At the 15th East Asia Summit, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said, the events happening in the South China Sea region are eroding confidence. Compliance with international laws and respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also spoke about the Indo-Pacific region while addressing the 15th East Asia Summit.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that apart from international and regional issues, the conference will discuss ways to further strengthen the group and improve the ability to deal with emergencies. According to the information shared with the ministry, during this time, the heads of state and representatives involved in the union will also deal with the Corona epidemic and will also discuss the damage caused to the economy in the Corona period.
The vertically held summit was presided over by the Prime Minister of Vietnam, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, as the President of ASEAN. All EAS member countries participated in this conference.
During this, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said in his address that solidarity and international cooperation is needed to deal with the challenges like terrorism, climate change and pandemic during the Coronas period. Referring to the recently announced policies of several countries for the Indo-Pacific region, the Foreign Minister said that if there is a commitment to international cooperation, then it will not be challenging to adjust the different perspectives.
