Two encounters are going on between the security forces and terrorists in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Police said that after Drass area, now the second encounter has taken place in Mulu area of Shopian, in which security forces have got success. Security forces have killed three terrorists in the ongoing encounter in Moolu and Dras areas of Shopian district. It is believed that three to four terrorists may still be hiding.
In fact, where the encounter started this morning in Mulu, there was an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Dras area of Shopian on Tuesday night itself. Security forces cordoned off and launched a search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in south Kashmir’s Drass area, a police official said. He said the search operation turned into an encounter when the terrorists hiding in the area opened fire on the security forces. This incident happened late Tuesday night.
The officer said that firing is going on from both the sides and there was no report of any casualty on either side. Similarly, today on Wednesday, terrorists opened fire on the security forces in Mulu area, after which the encounter started.
At present, the encounter is going on at both the places. This encounter has happened at a time when Union Home Minister Amit Shah is on a tour of Jammu and Kashmir. For now, detailed information is awaited.
