Vinesh Phogat Joins Farmer Protest at Shambhu Border

On this memorable day, renowned woman wrestler Vinesh Phogat joined the protest at Shambhu border. Vinesh Phogat, who is more famous for her gains in wrestling than as an entity, stood in support of the farmers to compel the government to listen to their demands. Phogat, while speaking to the media, made it emphatic that the farmers should be listened to since they are very important in the country’s food security and overall wellbeing.

Farmer Leader Outlines Plans for 200-Day Protest Anniversary

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher informed the gathering about the plan for the day and the scale of the protest. “Lakhs of farmers will gather at Khanauri and other borders. We have been informed about a message from Vinesh Phogat, and we will respect her presence,” he said. Pandher further said the protesters will ask that the route to Delhi be opened so that they can peacefully press for a legal guarantee for MSP and other issues.

Phogat Emphasizes Farmers’ Crucial Role in National Welfare

Asked if she would enter politics, Phogat sidestepped the long-term question for the more immediate challenge. “I will not speak on this; I do not want to politicize the farmers’ struggle,” she told The Hindu. Phogat was emphatic that the spotlight must remain on the farmers’ plight, rather than speculation on her own political future. She was deeply concerned with the ongoing crisis and said, “Farmers run the country. If they are not supported, none of us can succeed.”

Phogat’s participation is symbolic of the broad-based participation in support of the cause of the farmers and reflects the urgent need for government intervention to resolve the long-standing issues impacting the agricultural sector.
